FLEX

Flexible architecture models - modularization, integration and operation of modern software systems - iSAQB Module FLEX (3 days)

All Seminars

Designing Flexible Architectures

Learn how to create flexible, dynamically robust architectures that allow fast deployment and immediate feedback from how the system is used, keeping you ready for future requirements too.

Agenda

Introduction and Motivation
Time-to-market and flexibility

Distinguishing and Assessing Architecture Types
Deployment monoliths, self-contained systems and microservices

Implementing Integration
Domain-Driven Design concepts and “strategic design”

Approach
Frontend integration, integrating services (REST, message-oriented middleware …)

Integration Strategy Matching the Problem
Messaging systems and patterns

Transformation
Data storage and NoSQL

Automation
Modern infrastructures (IaaS, PaaS, virtualization …)

Stability and Availability
Fundamental resilience patterns (bulkhead, circuit breaker …)

Standardization and Automation
Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery

Modern Operations
DevOps, Infrastructure as Code…

Monitoring and Troubleshooting
Monitoring, logs and metrics

Your Benefit

You understand the trade-offs of the presented architecture types and can both communicate them and apply them in the context of concrete initiatives, to make appropriate architecture decisions. In particular, you can design a decomposition that takes central principles and influences into account, such as the organization’s communication structure (Conway’s Law). You’re able to shape a macro-architecture that covers communication and security, and you address important aspects of operations in a modern system landscape.

Target Audience

This workshop is aimed at software developers and architects who design and evolve systems. You have practical experience in IT projects. Knowledge of a specific technology or programming language is not required. Knowledge of web technologies is an advantage but not a mandatory prerequisite.

iSAQB Accredited

In our seminar, we implement the learning goals of the iSAQB curriculum FLEX in a modern, hands-on and interactive way. On your way to becoming a Certified Professional for Software Architecture (CPSA) Advanced, you receive 20 technical and 10 methodological Credit Points.
