“We believe less in elaborate internal strategies and more in what becomes possible when people with real passion join forces.”

What makes us who we are

We’re a self-organized team spread across Hamburg, Munich & Vienna. That means: you decide where, when, with what infrastructure and how you work - in coordination with your teammates and the needs of our clients. We’re experts in robust, modern software architecture, and we advise and train our clients individually, based on what they actually need.

We don’t want to conquer the world (or save it), we just want to have a good time. With colleagues and at clients, with trends and technical challenges. We are what our people can do and want to do, not the other way around.

Current job openings:

Agentic Engineering Consultant (Location: wherever you call home - we work distributed)

You’re in the middle of reflecting on, and deciding to make, a career change? Great! Because we need reinforcements!

Software architecture isn’t a chapter from your studies to you, it’s something you’ve applied day in, day out in your projects. Now you’re intrigued by the question: what happens when AI agents become part of those systems? Not as a gimmick, but as a real lever for building software. You’ve seen first-hand how fast “let’s just have the agents write our code” turns into a mountain of technical debt the moment nobody is paying attention to context, structure and quality. That’s why you want to help establish how it’s done right: Agentic Engineering that builds on solid architecture instead of undermining it. Sound like you? Then let’s talk.

Your responsibilities:

The role of Agentic Engineering Consultant is new and evolves together with the field it describes - so we’re keeping our search criteria open as well. We’re not looking for a spec, we’re looking for people we’d enjoy working with. It would be great if you recognize yourself in as many of the following points as possible:

  • You guide AI transformations, from small experiments to initiatives spanning multiple teams
  • You help client teams make Agentic Engineering part of their everyday work
  • You advise on technical agent setups, including skills, harnesses, and context engineering
  • You also anchor architecture, quality, and governance aspects in agentic development setups, to push professional AI-supported development further
  • You evolve grown codebases and legacy systems further with AI support
  • You design and develop embarc’s own Agentic Engineering solutions further - from the first idea to productive use
  • You keep your bearings in the constantly shifting AI landscape, make sense of new frameworks, models, and tools, and decide together with the team what actually makes a difference for our clients - instead of chasing every hype
  • You develop our AI service portfolio further together with your colleagues
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset and real impact on embarc’s success
  • You enjoy sharing your knowledge in trainings, client workshops, and with the team

Your profile:

  • You hold a degree in an IT-related field or bring comparable qualifications
  • Software architecture is your passion: you understand why systems grew the way they did, and what it takes for them to still be changeable in five years
  • You’ve already worked with coding agents, AI agents, RAG systems and ML techniques - in a project, during your studies, or on your own initiative. You have deeper, practice-tested knowledge here, not just buzzword familiarity
  • Ideally, you’ve experienced or helped shape yourself how a team moves from “let’s just try Copilot” to a genuinely agentic way of working - including the pitfalls nobody warned you about
  • You have hands-on project experience in complex software architectures
  • You’ve already evolved software agentically in complex, grown projects
  • You work analytically, independently, and in a structured way
  • You think entrepreneurially and like taking ownership
  • You’re a translator between techies and business: you distill complex technical topics for whichever audience you’re talking to, whether that’s developers or decision-makers on the client side
  • You communicate well and meet colleagues and clients with genuine empathy and a good feel for people and the dynamics behind a project
  • You speak German and English fluently (at least C1 level)

Sound like a great fit?

Then send us your application, including your earliest possible start date and how many hours you’d like to work with us (part-time or full-time), by email to: jobs@embarc.de.

Not sure you really check every single box? There’s only one way to find out: just apply. It’s the only way for us to find out together whether it’s a fit.

May we ask for something in return? We’d love for you to bring answers to a few questions along, so we can get to know you better:

  • Agentic systems, harness solutions, AI transformation are big terms. What, to you, makes the difference between a hype project and a solution that actually holds up in a client’s day-to-day work?
  • Picture your first three months with us: what absolutely has to happen? What absolutely must not?
  • You have a really cool idea for how we could build a better agentic solution for a client, but no colleague currently has time to support you. What do you do?
